Another night sleep thwarted...I woke up at 4 am, awake and hungry! After my usual breakfast of cereal, I wondered what to do: try to sleep, read or go online to find friends and hopefully my husbo there. I did find my husband and we got to chat for a bit until he took a crazy nap that took him until the next day: 12 hours later! That was pretty frustrating considering I wasn't sure what to do with myself at that crazy hour. So, I read and when it got light enough outside, I took a short walk. I went to our wedding photos and started creating a photo album. It's been two years so it's about time we had one. I worked on that for a while until I had to eat again...eventually, around midmorning, I took a short nap in the air conditioning. So nice!
Feeling somewhat refreshed, I got up and decided to do the yoga dvd I brought on my computer. I figured that the living room had the most space, so I got all set up and ready to breathe. Two minutes in I realized my mistake. Shuki, the parrot, lives in the living room/dining room and makes a ton of noise in his cage. So, I went back upstairs and commodeered Nitsan's room since she's not home anyway...Midway though the class, Efrat returned with the weekend's second American visitor, Rebecca from birthright. I think they thought I was a bit wacky, but after introductions were made, I went back to the yoga. What a great and gentle class!
After eating a small lunch, Efrat dropped me off at the pool for a swim while she went to get Ido from his bus. The pool was so amazing and refreshing, and I was able to do about 6 laps by the time they returned for me.
Now, I am showered and going to get ready for Shabbat. Efrat cooked but I am in charge of heating everything and prepping the last minute stuff. That also includes baking a challah...I think she's going to realize just how undomestic I am, especially in someone else's foreign kitchen...
After finding out that I am gaining too much weight, coming to Israel is not really helping. I don't have a lot of control over what I am eating, and the easiest things to grab are the carbs. Is hummus a carb because I have eaten a lot of it so far! I will try not to worry so I can enjoy a relaxing Shabbat.
Better get the challah going! Shabbat shalom!
