Since Shabbat was spent essentially marveling at the natural (the coast) and the artificial (golf course, Ritz-Carleton) beauty around us, we decided to do it again for a second day. This time, however, we could take pictures. We went a bit nuts taking photos everywhere, but I think it was worth it!
Unlike Shabbat, the fog was totally gone by 10 am, and the surroundings were just amazing. So, we sat and looked and hung out near the 18th hole at the Ritz watching the waves lap the shore. Ah, so nice! It was so difficult to leave such a perfect spot! But, since I was starting to get hungry, we decided to explore Main Street and find some food.
The sunny day and cool air provided such a nice atmosphere for our walk around adorable Half Moon Bay. We looked at and coveted hand crafted wood furniture, explored different specialty shops and decided on veggie corn chowder and sandwiches at a deli with garden seating.
Then, it was time to return Aaron to the golf course for his tee time. Yes, that's right. Aaron was about to play one of the most beautiful courses in the country. I will let him blog about his experience. (Aaron says: Ahhh. This was a serious treat. The Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay is a truly spectacular links course. Set on the ocean, overlooking the cliffs, it is a marvel in and of itself. And, the course is pretty challenging. I feel lucky to have been there and played. I did my best to remember to look up as much as possible so as not to get too engrossed in the golf and miss where I was. And, I am happy to say.. I was the only person on the course who walked!!) While he played, I went to Palo Alto to visit with Shaina. We had fun catching up, eating and walking around the area. Later, I picked Aaron up from the course and we made our way to the city of SF!

We didn't arrive to San Francisco until around 9 p.m., so we ended up eating in the room marveling at the totally urban view of the financial district from our room on the 9th floor. More on our time in SF and East Bay coming up!
