Since the last posts of the awesome Pacific Northwest honeymoon, there have been some notable events worth adding to the blog.
About a week and half after our trip, Aaron and I flew to the East Coast for some family gatherings. Our first stop: New York. While Aaron golfed with Nadboy at Bethpage golf course on Long Island, I went to Manhattan to hang with Nina. I wandered around Central Park and then walked down 5th Avenue to Rockefeller Center where Nina met me and I tried on bridesmaids dresses at JCREW. I am so glad I did that because I also found out I can make an appointment at the JCREW in the Grove to do the same exact thing. At least I now know which dress I like.
We made our way to Whole Foods for a late lunch in Columbus Circle which happened to be the locale of Nina and Matt's engagement. Columbus Circle, not Whole Foods, though the salad bar area is so nice in there.
After a few hours visiting with Nina, I made my way to the train station to meet Nicole Nadboy and take the Long Island Railroad back with her to their home. It was so nice getting to meet their twin girls who were born over a year ago. They are so friendly: Dylan came over to me right away and wanted to sit in my lap and Ava brought me her doll. They look so different from each other and have distinct personalities. I hope they will be the best of friends all of their lives. Mike and Nicole took us to a great Italian restaurant and we had fun hanging out and catching up with them.
The next day after breakfast with the girls, we made our way to JFK via Long Island Railroad, change at Jamaica and then the Air Train to the airport. I like taking public transportation; I guess it feels like vacation since we drive all the time.
At the airport, we ran into Matt's dad Andy and we ate lunch together before heading to our gate to fly to Rochester for Nina and Matt's engagement party hosted by Don and Ellen Bilgore, Matt's grandparents. It was a great trip! More on that soon...
