Lovely Day

Snowy path to Schechter, Dec. 27

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood! The sky is clear, the air is crisp and through my sunglasses, the colors contrast nicely with each other. Everything looks clear and sharp and it is cool to see. I think I am also appreciative of the fact that my school days on Wednesdays end at 2:30 so I can actually experience what kind of day we are having!

I have had a pretty good day so far. Classes were fine and I participated more than usual which is a good thing. We had a successful planning meeting for the discussion I will be facilitating with my classmate, Steve, next week in Israel Seminar. It is a fascinating topic that we have chosen: the evolving relationship between Israel and the Diaspora and how we view our Jewish identities vis a vis each other. Pretty cool...I'll report on how it goes next week.

After a nice walk home, I found a letter from my Hebrew teacher at UJ. It made me laugh out loud which is such a nice thing to do. I highly recommend it!

Anyway, I am eating a quick snack before heading out to Save the World (aka tutor English at a community center.)

According to my new book of blessings, the blessing to say on seeing beauty and color in nature is:
she'kacha lo b'olamo, translation forthcoming!
